INTERPLAY BETWEEN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LAW AND LAWS PROTECTING SENIOR CITIZENS

Abstract
Under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act of 2005 and the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act of 2007, the article addresses the issue of conflicts between competing interests of daughters-in-law and senior citizens. It claims that comprehensive guidelines/principles are needed to help courts in making judgements that balance the interests of all parties.
