IMPACT OF GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION ON POKKALI RICE AND GOBINDOBHOG RICE

In this article, the researcher is trying to show that how protection of geographical indication impacts the socio-economic condition of the communities who are engaged in the cultivation of Pokkali rice and Gobindobhog, and even getting the GI Tag doesn’t mean that they are doing good with their cultivation or occupation because there are other factors also which play an important role in the development of these communities. This paper also shows as to what are the benefits of providing GI from different aspects, for example, the Socio, Economic, Consumer, and Producer’s aspects.
