EVOLUTION OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN INDIA

Abstract Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the way companies manage their businesses to produce an overall positive impact on a society through economic, environmental, and social actions. CSR also called corporate conscience, corporate citizenship, social performance, or sustainable responsible businesses. Business depends for its survival on long term prosperity of the society. CSR not a new concept. It’s an older concept. India is a first country in the world to have mandatory statutory compliance requirement on CSR spending. CSR play a vital role in company’s growth & build a reputation in eye of society. It is certainly a business approach that creates a long – term consumer and employee value by not only creating a ‘green strategy’ on natural environment but also considering every dimension of how business operates in social, cultural and environment. |
