RIGHT TO INFORMATION: A WAY TO STRENGTHEN THE ADMINISTRATION

There is a purpose for the incorporation of the Right to Information under the Fundamental Rights as per Article 19(1) of the Constitution. It allows the citizens and acts as a check on the arbitrary actions of the Government. It helps is providing transparency to the people regarding the actions of the Government and increases the accountability of the government toward the citizens. It curbs corruption among the officials. It preserves the basic principle of Rule of Law. This research paper is an attempt to highlight these features of the Right to Information Act, 2005 and to expose its limitations that should be looked up.
