INTERNATIONAL LAW AND THE LEGALITY OF DRONE WARFARE

The use of drones is not directly covered under the International Law, but their use is governed by the general rules of international law. The first section of the article focuses on the international law framework on the legality of the use of drones for targeted killings. It examines the law relating to the use of force through drones strikes on foreign territory. It also explains the required legal rules related to the legality of drones strike under the international humanitarian law and human rights law regime. Further, the second section of the article focuses on the significant ways in which the United Kingdom and the United States of America have violated the International legal rules on the lawful use of drones.
