DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ITS EXISTENCE IN INDIA

The existence of violence towards women from ancient times had a profound impact on the construction of feminine identity. For over decades, women have been subjugated to the violence of many forms, which is sometimes even described as ‘structural violence. The struggles and gender-based violence that were faced by women are highlighted in this article with an urgent need to limit down this social institution because they act as a torment for our country’s growth. This article also revolves around the central theme of domestic violence and its ever existence in India, the laws and acts that have been taken to combat the same. It even claims that prejudice and violence exist at every stage of life, especially for female children and later women in the family, the bigotry that women have faced since the very first start.
