EXTRADITION AND ITS IMPORTANCE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

The concept of Extradition comes into play when an offender commits a crime in one State and then flees to another State. The State in which the crime was committed then requests the State in which the offender is hiding to surrender the offender. Such instances of the offender leaving the country have been growing. This paper elaborates on the concept of Extradition, its need, basis, and relevance. The paper also attempts to throw light as to how the concept of extradition plays a vital role in the international relations of the States.
